Fit-out work happens inside finished or occupied buildings, often around the client's own property, stock and staff. That changes the risk: damage to the contents of a home or a shop, dust and fumes affecting people who are still using the space, and tight programmes where a late finish can hold up an opening.
Tools, materials and stock in transit tend to matter more here than on a groundworks job, and so does the client's property in your care. Insurers will usually want to know whether you work in occupied premises, whether you use solvents or heat, and how much of the work is commercial rather than domestic.
